Picture This…
When a tornado is coming, it is safe to assume that we all know safety is underground or in the most internal room of a structure.
Let’s get a little metaphorical. The tornado is your troubles/concerns/worries. Maybe it is worrying about being a good parent. Maybe it’s worrying about becoming a parent. Maybe it’s worrying about being a good spouse, or finding that good spouse. Maybe it is an overwhelming feeling of sadness, despair, not good enough. We all have our own version of this metaphorical tornado.
Now let’s think about the basement. The basement is your safe space. It holds the coping skills to your tornado. The basement helps you get “through” the tornado.
So here comes the tornado. Where are you?
No, really, picture the scene in your head.
Are you outside just waiting for it to hit? Or are you in the basement handling it. Maybe you are somewhere in the middle- not entirely in the way, but don’t quite have it all together either, so things still get a little messy.
If you are comfortable in the basement, that’s great! Keep up the good work.
If you are outside or somewhere in the middle and don’t want to stay there, maybe it’s time to come see us. Let us help you figure out how to be comfortable in the basement. Metaphorical tornadoes are going to come, that’s just life. But they don’t have to wreak havoc every time.
