Life transitions
Hi! Welcome to this step in your journey toward peace with yourself.
Therapy can be amazing and transformative, but first you are taking the leap to find someone who feels right to you. It’s always risky to make new connections and as a sensitive person I feel that deeply. I aim to create a warm, supportive space for you to express yourself with curiosity rather than judgment. Those things you feel you can’t tell others in your life? I want to hear and examine them together!
The clients I see:
I work with adults 18+ grappling with all types of challenges, especially people who are sensitive and wonder why things feel so hard for them when it seems easy for everyone else. People who tend to overthink, analyze, plan, or deal with mental and physical effects of anxiety. Those two can identify with the feeling of putting everyone’s needs before your own and still not feeling good enough. Anyone going through a change point in life with career, education, family, or physical changes like menopause or medical conditions. My clients often describe knowing things on a logical level, yet feeling powerless to find relief in daily life.
My therapy style:
I am a thoroughly person-centered counselor, which means I believe the relationship we create in therapy enables the healing process. We create a stable place from which to explore deep into who you are, becoming more comfortable witnessing and accepting your authentic self. I tend to use sessions to discuss how you’re thinking and feeling, and how you’re thinking and feeling about that too. I bring in a sense of justice and social context to examine the “rules” we internalize but sometimes fail to question. My goal is to follow what feels important to you and make the space what you need it to be.
What I’m like:
Well, I rewrote this bio six times before I told myself it was time to let it be! Counseling is the dream career I discovered after making a change ten years into a dissatisfying career in marketing. Both in and out of session I use wit and love silly wordplay and dad-level jokes. I am highly sensitive, an eldest daughter, a mom, and I like to garden (which is 40% actually gardening and 60% staring at the garden itself). I also enjoy reading fiction and playing cozy video games to soothe my mind.
My training and education:
I completed my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Mount Mary University and I am currently working toward full licensure under the supervision of Emily Aleksy. I also have a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and French. I think this skill set works well - I am fascinated with exploring all of the tiny details of a story, and carefully expressing ideas across languages. I have completed advanced training in perinatal mental health and grief and loss from Postpartum Support International. I am always searching for more knowledge and usually reading and/or listening to multiple books on topics ranging from body acceptance to neurodevelopment and coping with mortality.

Supervision and Finances with a Provisionally Licensed Clinician
Provisionally licensed clinicians (LPC-IT or APSW) are providers that have earned and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Counseling or Social Work, but still need to be supervised by a fully licensed clinician - typically for 3000 hours of post-graduate work. Christine is under the supervision of Clinic Director Emily Aleksy, LCSW, PMH-C.
Insurance companies may or may not reimburse for out of network services with provisionally licensed clinicians. Clients are welcome to request and submit superbills (a special receipt given to your insurance company for reimbursement of out of network services) if they would like, but, as with all of our therapists, we do not have control over whether your insurance company reimburses for any care you receive.
